Lessons learned from NAB 2016

OpenIO has participated for the first time at NAB and we’ve got an interesting number of visits at our booth in the Startup Loft zone. All visitors – users and partners – came with real projects and challenges having problems with some other object storage solutions they’re using or recommend. Next few weeks will be interesting on our side.

Outside of our experience, we saw many key themes like Drone, Surveillance, 360°, Virtual Reality, 4K and a few 8K and of course streaming and encoding/transcoding stuff. With file-based workflow, the momentum has clearly started with large, very large files and OpenIO fits perfectly in that world, again users and partners have recognized our capabilities. The approach presented by OpenIO with the Video Edition had a very good traction and visitors have wished to learn more about our approach especially with our Grid for Apps model. Next news on the topic will appear after the summer, we invite you to visit and meet us again during IBC in September in Amsterdam.
